What's in the bag: our CBD lab reports

Every Four Twentea bag is made to contain 10 mg of CBD. When we started out, plenty of CBD products didn't contain what their labels said, and we weren't having that. Getting our method right took over a year of research and development, with a lot of testing (and failure!) along the way. When we finally got the technique of blending and packing right, we were delighted. Here are the independent results and we haven't changed our tea, CBD or process since.

Who tested it
ADACT Medical Ltd in Doncaster, an independent lab accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2017, the international standard for testing laboratories.

What they found
Four tests on Normalitea in March and April 2022:

Certificate CBD per bag THC
CBD-FOU-0003 T0 20C 10.37 mg Below the limit of quantification
CBD-FOU-0003 T1 20C 9.44 mg Below the limit of quantification
CBD-FOU-0003 T1 35C 9.40 mg Below the limit of quantification
CBD-FOU-0003 T3 20C 9.79 mg Below the limit of quantification

"Below the limit of quantification" means the amount was too small for the lab's equipment to measure reliably. That applies to Δ9-THC, Δ8-THC and THCA, as well as the other cannabinoids tested. This is minute and well below the legal limit.

ADACT certificate of analysis CBD-FOU-0003 T0 20C for Four Twentea Normalitea, March 2022, showing 10.37 mg CBD per tea bag and THC below the limit of quantification

What's next
We're moving to new tea bags in January. We'll test the new batch and post the results here, for every blend.

How much to have
The FSA advises healthy adults to limit CBD from all food sources to 10 mg a day. That's one bag of our tea. CBD is not recommended for under-18s, anyone pregnant or breastfeeding, or anyone taking medication.
